Lightyear unveils solar-powered One EV prototype

The Lightyear One will have five square meters of solar cells on its roof and hood

Details were scant when Lightyear first revealed plans to build a solar-powered electric car back in 2017, apart from a claimed 800 km range per charge. Last night the company took the wraps of the pre-production prototype, with 725 km (450 mi) of WLTP range, a high price tag and plans to deliver the vehicle in 2021.

Bliss and Acela reveal their creation at Overland Expo West 2019

Among the many big trucks of Overland Expo, one particular green machine stood out. A collaboration between American truck manufacturer Acela and Dutch camper module maker Bliss Mobil, this particular expedition motorhome features exacting state-of-the-art engineering from bumper to bumper, roof to contact patches. Each company goes through great pains to push its product to the pinnacle of its respective segment, and the team-up results in a go-anywhere expedition vehicle ready to brave Arctic winters, make fresh water out of murky river, live astonishingly comfortably off-grid, and look pretty damn good doing it all.

Stealthy, all-electric classic Mustang on its way to Goodwood

Charge has partnered with Arrival on electric components for its Mustang

London's Charge Automotive is preparing to emerge from the smoke and shadows with an impressive sports car that's sure to terrify small children, even without a V8 rumbling under its hood scoop. The blacked-out, 1967-style Mustang fastback features a 536-hp (400-kW) electric powertrain spinning all four wheels for up to 200 miles (322 km). The prototype will make its debut at next month's Goodwood Festival of Speed.
